CHARACTER INFO (WIP)

Some basic character info until I flesh things out more. Also I'm also the player of [personal profile] sharingscars as these two are from the same world

Name: "Face", real name Tiffany Denzil
Age: 17

History/World info:

Bullet points for now because sooo much info...

-Lives in a post apocalyptic world filled with demons and strange creatures
-Created in an experiment to give humans demonic strength/abilities while retaining their humanity in an effort to fight back against the demonic forces that took over everything. Failed experiment created beings dubbed "Monsters" who are not only weaker than demons but struggle to retain humanity. Oops.
-She ended up in a seemingly normal home with a little family
-Fled from said family due to a very unstable home life when she was 16 ((to be continued/SUPER ROUGH DRAFT)

Personality:

Face has this particular name for a reason; she puts on a lot of faces. Her friends often point out that half the time the face she's making isn't indicative of what she's feeling, and are probably the only ones who could say that so certainly. She has a habit of putting on exaggerated faces when she's trying to mask how she's actually feeling. The bigger the smile, the faker it's likely to be. She has a dry humor that tends to be very off putting to most, often times told that the way she talks to the people of her town makes it sound as if she believes herself smarter/better than them. In reality, Face doesn't think she's better than anyone, so she feels as if she doesn't actually need to change her attitude.

Because she's so good at putting up masks and shoving back her feelings -- something her boss/friend Scar encouraged her to do -- if there's a task that needed to be done she could do it despite having strong opposition to it. For example, Scar will sometimes order her to kill someone who could potentially endanger their life style. Face doesn't think killing people for what they might do is right, but since Scar calls the shots and she's just the hired hand, she'll do it. A lot of this is also because she views Scar as a friend, and therefore trusts that in the end he wouldn't give her an order that would lead them astray. This also means she's so used to taking orders that she rarely acts on her own beliefs. A lot of people in The Town refer to her as a puppet. And in many ways that's true. Her friend, Windy, often encourages her to stand up to Scar and refuse certain jobs (even though he also views Scar as a good friend) since Scar has so many people willing to dirty their hands for him and she shouldn't have to always carry the burden. She doesn't listen, of course. Scar will often ask her and Windy to do jobs he knows they wouldn't want to do in order to test their loyalty. While Windy will turn them down and beg Scar to believe that he has his back so long as he doesn't cross some unthinkable line, Face will always grin and bear it no matter how difficult. She once agreed to go after a friend of three years who had been caught sharing information for their rivals in order to find his sister. This was perhaps the one time where Face defied Scar, though instead of outright doing so she went behind his back and pretended to kill her friend, telling him to leave and never come back. So her loyalty to Scar is not absolute, but it takes a lot to break it.

Face has a bit of a complex about her humanity. She was created in experimentation by a man who wanted to create beings who were strong like demons, but retained their humanity. She's not the first this was tried on, and the result that comes from this practice creates beings people refer to as "Monsters". They're not nearly as strong as demons and are always born with some kind of deformity, which makes them easy to spot. Face often wears a big jacket to cover hers; red, raw skin covering parts of her arms and most of her back, going up towards her neck. There are always two big holes cut into the back of her shirts/jackets where two what appear to be circular open wounds can be seen on the back of her shoulders. When Face wants to, she can grow two extra arms that protrude from said circles. They're long and skeletal, but still covered in bloody/raw flesh, and have hands with sharp claws. She can transform beyond that, but the process is already painful enough so she doesn't try to. Because of all this, Face struggles between her "human" side and "not human" side. For example, humans sleep in beds. The specific demon face came from fancied sleeping in small dark spots. Face will sometimes crawl off her bed and scuttle underneath it to continue her slumber there. This is only one of her many struggles being what she is. This is perhaps the one time she's so awful at putting up masks. As much as she tries to resist urges her Monster side pushes on to her, it's almost impossible. ((to be continued))
